Your Past Is Killing Your Future

Written by Alex Marlin on October 17, 2007 – 2:35 am -

I had a chat with a great friend of mines, and I know how tough her life growing was and still is and how much tougher it will get. But, as I was there listening to all her problems and the things she faced and is dealing with, she began to shed some tears. It was really heart-breaking, but I tried to contain my composure and be strong for that moment while she was letting all her grief out.

I told her that I can see that you have been to hell and back, and life isn’t fair, but you have to remember that your past does not equal your future. You have to learn how to focus on only the great things in life and ask for a blessing to all whom have done you wrong and that means your parents also. You have to honestly learn to bless everyone and everything in your life.

Can you really change the outcome of your life with your mind?

As we spoke, I gently said to her that I am not going to say that what happened to you is right. But, I honestly don’t understand how people can inflict pain onto another human and feel no regret. That shows how cold some human beings are.

Our mind is so powerful that we can focus on only good, and neglect the pass. You should forget your past deeds and all the wrong things that has happened in your life. For you to face a better future, you have to fill your mind now with laughter and better moments to come.

Don’t dwell on your past and continue to tell everyone about your past, that will be just bringing it up and making it stronger in your life and attracting more of the bad your speaking of. Talk about the issues once, cry and forget them for life, it has already happened, we can’t turn back the clock. The things that we are facing daily is actually a test to make us even more stronger. Only the strong will survive, the weak ones, let their bad and evil ideas over power them, and end up loosing the game of life.

If we don’t learn to forgive and move on and fill our minds with happy thoughts we end up becoming bitter and prisoners of hate. We will see the world through bloody eyes and we can not bring anything good to us, because we are showing only hate and the more hate you show the more people will hate you and the more hatred you will attract. I know this sounds like mumbo jumbo, but as you face an angry person feel love in your heart for that person and smile, you yourself will notice that their mood will shift and they too will experience a calm shift in attitude.

The power of what we are feeling is much strong than what our mind is focusing on at that moment. we can turn our feelings on or off, with the flash of a new taught, but this will only be possible if you have good feelings flowing from the inside. Once the inside is pure and happy, the outside will show the same.

Life is what we make of it

As you understand how to always put your self in a great mood, you will also understand how to have people act so friendly with you that the masses would be shocked. There was this lady that had a real hoggish attitude, and she would growl and bark at anyone coming to ask about their checks that she had to return to them for their travels expenses.

Everyone was really afraid of her, and then one day, me and a friend of mines was approaching her to ask for our travel refunds. He preceded first and was confronted with a horrendous attack, she was explaining him that she is very busy now and don’t have time for this right now. She said she would call when she had the check ready. Well, I approached her two minutes later, and she was all smiles, and told me that the check wasn’t ready, but she would go ahead and walk it through the cycle and get it signed for me. He was standing right there and witnessed what she did, she told him your lucky that Mr. Marlin is with you, and she got the checks for both of us. He was stunned, and asked; “What did I do wrong?”

So what just happened there?

The same travel arrangement and the same day, just a couple minutes after him. The main difference is attitude. I always approached her and asked her how she was doing, then I would tell her a little about the trip I went on, make a couple jokes with her, and then ask if the check was ready.

Many of us treat people as objects or robots and ignore the human factor involved and the stress of dealing with bitter people all day that can make anyone bitter. So why not be different and try to honestly start caring about people. Start a simple conversation asking about them and how their day is going so far. If you genuinely care about what people are doing or their health, they will treat you very differently. Stop racing through life and start slowing down, you will notice the things that are bypassing you. Life isn’t for the swift, it is a journey that we all have to take, so make sure your enjoying your journey in a slower pace.

Just be different and actually great your colleagues and neighbors with a healthy good morning. Start paying attention to how you feel. Stop thinking on negative things, and block any bad deeds from entering your mind.Fill your mind with nice thoughts and you will start to feel better inside.

If you’ve been hurt by anyone in the past, let go of that pain, it is actually bringing you down. It doesn’t matter how bad you was hurt, you mission in life is to enjoy and be happy. There is no happiness to be found in negative thoughts or deeds.

You can be whatever you wish to be in this life, if you would only learn to focus on what you want. Stop worrying about how you will get it. If Oprah Winfrey could overcome what her uncle did to her and go on to build such a beautiful future for herself, then I believe we all have better futures awaiting us.

Stop living in the past, your future awaits you. Build your future in your mind, and actually believe it will come through and the love will shine and the pictures you hold of your future will come to life.

Don’t let your past rob you of your future.

Most Educated People Have No Social Skills

Written by Alex Marlin on October 13, 2007 – 2:23 am -

This article is not to step on anyone toes, but I have to make my point very clear as far as dealing with educated people and their social skills. I must admit that most educated people are very arrogant, they seem to always think they are right, they are very conceited, they do as if the world revolves around them.

As far as learning is concerned, I do believe we can learn from any person on this earth if we would only learn to speak less and listen more. When you have a conversation with a educated person, just pay keen attention to how they try to twist and give comments on a topic which they know so little of. You would seldom hear them say they don’t know. It is as if they believe that you have to know everything.

I must admit that educated people are very boring when it comes to socializing, they just can’t have a simple conversation without bringing up their work, school days, what they accomplished so far and any other out of sync topic. They live in their own world, small little shell and you will hardly ever see anyone having a happy moment with them.

They Are The Worse Managers Of Any Company

When we think of managing a company or being the manager of any department, we will surely confront some really “awful” educated managers. They run their department with the style of a dictator, anything they say goes. They hardly ever listen to any of their colleagues, and even when you recommend something they do as if you never said anything worthwhile. A couple days later they bring up the same topic and use your points as if they came up with those suggestions.

They are always trying to show their powers by insulting you in front of everyone else. When it comes to authority, they don’t have a clue how to deal with adults. They treat everyone like kids, and that shows why they are the most sorrowful fathers. Their kids never respect them and so do their colleagues.

They are hated by most within the company and the most amazing part is that they can’t even see nor understand why no one appreciates them. I have seen many such managers in my time, and I always smile when I encounter another one of those “educated dawn fools” like my Mom would say. My Mom always told us that education is just a starting point, being honest and truthful is what makes you a much better person. Don’t leave education blindfold you and make you self centered, show respect and listen to others and they would extend the same favor. The truth be told: ” Do onto others as you would have them do onto to you.”

I must admit, my Mom wasn’t the most educated person, but she really had a way with words, and has been a big influence in my well being.

They put lies in front of loyalty

When speaking with an educated person, half of what they say is untrue. They are so always trying to make it seem as if they are in total control, but we can see that they are full of it. My former boss, the one with the “big Head” was such a arrogant Jack in a box, that he wasn’t even smart enough to decipher when he was being played like a fool. We had a main password to the switching system, and he insisted that the login name be his name. See the arrogance. Another colleague changed the password.

One morning he came over to our department and he wanted to know the password to the system, so we all started smiling, because we wanted to see how the colleague would pull this off. The colleague who knew the password stepped forward and said, let me see if I can recall it. He told him the login name, and started to spell out the password. He said; B-I and then he would pause, then he said G-H and he paused again, gave him one more letter E and said AD. Now he was so smart that he even didn’t realized that it was… “BIGHEAD”. That is what I call managing with one eye and no ears. Do you think he knew?

We once asked him why he was always giving people a run around and not telling them the truth, and his famous reply was that you have to always B.S. people. That way you are always on top of everything. Well, if you ever met this guy, you would understand how on the top he was. His body size and his big head are the only thing you would see first as he walked down the hallway. His head swayed from left to right as he walked.

His style of managing was filled with lies and no trust. You just couldn’t figure out how this manager functioned, but he honestly believed he was doing such a great job. You would constantly catch him with one lie after another. Is that managing?

When It Comes To Business Educated People Don’t Have What It Takes.

If we count the amount of none educated millionaires in the world, it is very amazing to see why these people make it and some of the best professors in the world are just teachers or work for an none-educated person and have no business skills whatsoever. That is the part that has puzzled me for many years. I have a brother who hated school and is one such successful business person. I started to observe they way he did things and how his taught processing worked. The most amazing skill he had was to always come up with ideas and follow through. He was very good at asking how to do things, and he listened to all what you had to say.

He got all his ideas by listening and asking questions, and would follow through with his idea. His ego was never a problem and showed every one respect and was not trying to make himself come across as a “smarty pants”.

Let’s take the Internet today, and you will see that most of the people making most of the money online are not educated. They have a nack for picking up ideas and sticking with them. They are very good at socializing and communicating with people.

An Attitude Of Gratitude

Written by Alex Marlin on October 9, 2007 – 2:06 am -

The world is so filled with ungrateful people that it sickens me when I see people complaining on my job and never ever being thankful for something that someone did for them. I have seen situations where they gave so many people chances on my job and the following day they were in a heated battle discussing why management just don’t care.

The story here is to show you why so many of us are missing out on the blessing that can come our way, but because of our ungrateful attitude we are lining very unhappy lives.

There is this one person that made me write this article because of his selfish attitude and total lack of gratefulness. Robert, a once very happy and friendly employee, was one of those workers that was terminated by the company a few years back. He tried starting a company with a couple friends, but failed at that also. So he was left with no choice but to return here looking for a job again. His manger begged for them to give him a chance and he was granted a second chance for the second time around, but he became even more ungrateful and wasn’t even thankful for the blessing that were being sent his way.

Soon after that, he was filled with steam and petitioning the campaign that they get rid of the manager that gave him a chance. He and another colleague were determined to get rid of that manager. It ended up in a bitter court battle between the other colleague and they got rid of the other colleague. Robert was blessed once again and they didn’t get rid of him. Now today he walks around with the most sorrowful attitude that I have ever seen from any worker. He sits in meetings as a broken neck chicken and acts as if he doesn’t care.

Well, I had a talk with him and told him that what he does is really pitiful. It is such a shame that you would let your ego drop so low and walk around with your head down. Self esteem is one word, but with this type of attitude you are building so much stress that one day you will suffer a stroke or massive heart attack. I asked him who he think wins such a battle, the JOB or you. I didn’t wait for an answer i told him no matter what you answer know, the JOB wins and you and your family looses. You will be a goner and in a couple of days, you will be replaced and no one will even miss ya. I told him; If it’s that bad, why don’t you ask for a transfer or start looking for another job?

He was very quiet and didn’t even bother to answer, but you could see a change on his face. A couple minutes later, he slowly started to explain the situation he was facing on the job, and I could sense the relief as he began to speak. Haven’t seen Robert in such a depressed state since then.

Change your attitude and watch your life change before your eyes

One thing I have witnessed in my own life, is that your attitude brings more fortune your way. If we would only learn to pay more attention to our own attitude and start being grateful for the things we have in life. We would all live fulfilled and blessed lives. We would not lack anything in life, because with our new found attitude we would only be focusing on the good things that life has to offer and that way we would only receive the best things we wish for in life.

The life your living today is the life that fits with your attitude. Stop complaining about your old car. Stop bad mouthing the house you live in. Stop screaming at your kids, because they are not the cause of the life your living today. Stop arguing about what you have to eat today. Stop walking around with a sour face. Stop looking at your paycheck and saying it’s not enough. Stop, stop, stop…

In one sentence, stop all the complaining and for once in your life start being a little thankful for the things you have today.

If you could change one thing today, I would say this: “Change Your Attitude.”

There is a better life right around the corner, it’s awaiting you, but you just won’t let it in. Do you know what is killing all the success that awaits you, it’s without a doubt your attitude of gratitude.

How To Create A Winning Attitude

I count my blessings daily and I have changed in so many ways that it amazes me how much I used to complain about everything and my life was so empty. All that time I never realized that it was my attitude that was sucking away all the wealth that awaited me. I never had a clue that I am the one that I can create a much better destiny if I would just building a winning attitude. Just image an attitude of gratitude so strong that not even the devil can break it.

Today, I smile more, I am very easy going with my kids, more understandable with everyone in my life and on my job. I have been picturing the things I love and doing what I love. I have been drawing nothing but great things my way. And this all started the day I became more thankful. I would awake every morning and lay there in my bed saying thanks for everything that I own. Every evening before I go to bed, I would say thanks again for all that happened today, and look forward to what tomorrow have to bring, because I know that I would always have great days from now on

So if your a thin or a small person, be thankful. There are many people in the world who are missing body parts or would wish to have your small frame or just be thin and healthy. So be a little more thankful. Make each day better by being thankful for how well your day went. Even if you had the worse day of your life, look at the good things that happened and be thankful and wish for a much better day tomorrow.
